Djokovic wins Australian Open

MELBOURNE - World number one Novak Djokovic won his 5th Australian Open in Melbourne on Sunday by beating Andy Murray of the UK 7-6(5) 6(4)-7 6-3 6-0.

The Serb now has 49 ATP titles to his name, 8 of which are Grand Slams, that is two Wimbledon titles and one US Open along with the 5 Australian Open trophies.

Just like in the semifinal against Wawrinka, Djokovic's game was not stable in the first part of the match, but he found his rhythm in the 3rd and 4th sets and defeated Murray for the 16th time in his career.

There was an incident during the 2nd set, when two fans entered the court carrying banners in protest against alleged violations of refugee rights in Australia.

The match was interrupted for a short while, and the security reacted immediately.

This is the 3rd time that Djokovic has bested Murray in the Australian Open final, after 2011 and 2013.
