María Pagés comes to CRR

Spanish Flamenco dancer María Pagés will perform at CRR on Dec 13.

Flamenco choreographer and dancer María Pagés will perform at Istanbul's CRR Concert Hall on Dec. 13.
 
An internationally-renowned artist for her personal aesthetic concept of the art of flamenco, Pagés began dancing professionally with the Antonio Gades Company. 

She has choreographed a number of films including "Carmen," "El Amor Brujo" and "Flamenco" by Carlos Saura, and in 1990 she established the Maria Pagès Company. Her work is described as incorporating the national flamenco style with outside influences. 

In 2002 she was awarded the National Prize for Dance (Creation). She was also awarded the 2004 Léonide Massine Prize, for L'Arte della Danza "Al Valore," eight "Giraldillo" Prizes in the Seville Flamenco Art Biennale and the 2007 prize for Culture from the Community of Madrid, amongst many other distinctions and awards.
