Unidentified child's body recovered from the Bosphorus

The body of an unidentified child has been recovered off the shore of Istanbul's European neighborhood of Ortaköy, after concerned citizens notified authorities. 

Citizens called the police after noticing the body of a toddler boy drifting along water by the Ortaköy mosque. After arriving at the scene, Be?ikta? district police officers contacted the maritime police for assistance in retrieving the body from the Bosphorus. 

The toddler's body was transferred to ?i?li Hamidiye Etfal Training and Research hospital in the nearby ?i?li district. 

An investigation has been launched into the child's death.
