Turkish warplanes hit PKK bases in northern Iraq

Turkish warplanes have conducted an air operation targeting bases of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in northern Iraq, the Turkish General Staff has announced.

A total of 12 F-16 and F-4 2020 fighter jets hit 11 targets including ammunition stores and shelters of the PKK in the Hakurk, Haftanin, Ava?in and Basyan camps in northern Iraq on March 23 between 9.00 p.m. and 9.30 p.m., the General Staff said in a statement.

Turkish jets had also hit PKK camps both inside the country and in northern Iraq as a part of two separate air operations early March 23.
