One policeman killed, two wounded in PKK attack in ??rnak

One police officer was killed while two others were wounded in an attack by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) late on April 16 amid ongoing operations in the Turkish southeastern province of ??rnak. 

PKK militants launched a rocket attack against an armored police vehicle passing through Vatan Street in central ??rnak and injured three police officers.

All three were transferred to the nearby ??rnak State Hospital, where police officer Hüseyin Danac?, 28, succumbed to his wounds. The other officers are reportedly in a good condition. 

A funeral ceremony was held for Danac? at the 23rd Gendarmerie Border Division Command on April 17. His body was later sent to his hometown of Kayseri in Central Anatolia.
