Soldier killed in clashes with PKK in Turkey's southeast

One soldier was killed on April 18 during clashes with the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the southeastern province of Mardin.

The specialist corporal was heavily wounded during clashes with PKK militants in the province's Nusaybin district amid a security forces operation in the Fatih neighborhood. He was taken to Nusaybin State Hospital but later succumbed to his injuries despite all efforts.
