We want terror-free country: CHP leader on 15th day of 'justice march'

Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has criticized the Turkish government over its handling of the fight to "end terror," calling for a joint struggle to fight for a "terror-free country" on the 15th day of his "justice march" to Istanbul.

"I am asking the government, how do you want to end terror? They [government] have achieved everything they wanted, yet it still hasn't ended," Kılıçdaroğlu said on June 29 at a camping area in the Gümüşova district of the Black Sea province of Düzce where marchers spent the night before they commenced the 15th day of the march.

"A terror-free Turkey is a mutual goal of us all. Wherever the terror comes from, say it is from FETÖ [Fethullahist Terrorist Organization], the PKK [outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party] or DHKP-C [outlawed Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front], we all have to stand against it in an honorable way without any compromise," he added.

"We have to fight together against terror," he said.

He also called on the people who voted in favor of the constitutional amendment in the April 16 referendum to join the struggle against terror.

"I am encouraging our citizens who voted 'yes' to end terror. You have been deceived. Think about it, they [government] will not prevent terrorism, they will not finish it," he said, adding that the march he initiated after the imprisonment of CHP lawmaker Enis Berberoğlu has been supported by different segments of society, including those who supported the government in its efforts to change the constitution.

Speaking about the protests happening along the way, he reiterated that the march was "all-inclusive."
