Almost 360 coronavirus cases reported for Wednesday, seven deaths

Ljubljana – Slovenia saw 358 people test positive for coronavirus on Wednesday, while the 7-day average of new cases dropped below 300, government data show. Seven patients with Covid-19 died.

Over 3,850 PCR tests were performed, of which 9.3% came back positive, as almost 28,870 people were screened with rapid tests but all positives are subject to PCR tests.

Hospitalisations also dropped slightly, to 363 this morning, of whom 110 are in intensive care, the same as yesterday.

The 7-day average of new cases fell to 384 on Wednesday, from 417 on Tuesday, a drop of over 22% from Wednesday last week.

According to the Covid-19 Sledilnik tracker site, there are 6,255 active coronavirus infections in the country.

Since the start of the epidemic in March 2020, around 250,800 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Slovenia and 4,345 people infected with coronavirus have so far died, according to Sledilnik.
