Logar discusses cooperation, situation in region with Palestinian FM

Ramallah – Foreign Minister Anže Logar met his Palestinian counterpart Riyad al-Maliki he visited Ramallah on Tuesday. Bilateral and EU-Palestine cooperation, the situation in Palestine, current developments in the region, and Slovenia’s EU presidency topped the agenda. He also met Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeas.

The meeting with Prime Minister Shtayyeas focussed on the role of the EU in the Middle East peace process, the Slovenian Foreign Ministry said in a press release.

Logar arrived in Jerusalem on Monday when he met his Israeli counterpart Yair Lapid, Kneset Speaker Mickey Levy, and the chair of the parliamentary defence and foreign affairs committee Ram Ben Barak.

He expressed Slovenia’s willingness to continue regular dialogue and cooperation with Israel in the future. Topical developments in the region, EU-Israeli relations and the Slovenian EU presidency’s priorities were on the agenda of his meetings.

As part of the visit to Israel, Slovenia’s Government Information Security Office and the Israeli National Cyber Directorate signed a cyber security cooperation memorandum.
