Serbia beat Dominican Republic to reach basketball world cup quarter-finals

MANILA - Serbia are through to the quarter-finals of the FIBA Basketball World Cup after beating the Dominican Republic 112-79 (29-15, 27-20, 31-18, 25-26) in the second phase of the competition's group stage on Sunday.

Bogdan Bogdanovic led Serbia with 20 points, Vanja Marinkovic and Nikola Milutinov each scored 16 points and Filip Petrusev added 14 points.

Karl-Anthony Towns excelled for the Dominican Republic with 25 points.

Serbia finished in second place in Group I - behind Italy - and will face Lithuania in the quarter-finals on Tuesday.

Italy will play the US.
