Hungary supports Serbia's European path

BELGRADE - Serbian Minister without portfolio responsible for European integration Jadranka Joksimovic conferred on Tuesday with the outgoing Hungarian Ambassador Oszkar Nikowitz who said that Budapest supports Serbia on its EU path.

Nikowitz underlined the support of his country to Serbia's EU accession, adding that EU integration of the entire region is also in the interest of Hungary, the Serbian government Office for cooperation with the media said in a release.

Joksimovic said that significant steps have been taken in the previous period to promote the cooperation between Serbia and Hungary, adding that full support is given to joint infrastructure projects that are crucial for the drawing of foreign investments.

She also pointed to the significance of opening new border crossings and the realization of other bilateral projects with Hungary in the fields of education and culture, as well as the efforts to maintain and enhance good relations between the two nations.

Minister Joksimovic thanked Ambassador Nikowitz on the constructive cooperation during his term in office and the efforts he invested in the development and promotion of the two countries' bilateral relations.
