Festival of contemporary art Danube Dialogues begins

NOVI SAD - The second International Festival of Contemporary Art entitled 'Danube Dialogues' will open in Novi Sad on Wednesday, gathering 85 artists and 12 art theoreticians from 14 countries in the Danube macro region.

The festival will close on September 15. The programmes will take place at 15 locations, asserting the idea of a cultural dialogue in the contemporary art of Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova and Ukraine, the festival organisers announced.

Every year, the festival features individual exhibitions from countries in the Danube region, as well as dialogue exhibitions of local artists and their colleagues from partner countries. This year's festival partners are the Slovakian Embassy and the Institute for Culture of Vojvodina Slovaks.

Thanks to the efforts invested by festival founder and director Vesna Latinovic and art director Sava Stepanov, Novi Sad will be a genuine centre of contemporary art of the Danube region in the course of the coming month.
