Srpska List will soon decide about joining Kosovo govt

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - President of Srpska List Aleksandar Jablanovic has said he expects official contact with Kosovo's prime minister-designate and officials of the two strongest Kosovo Albanian parties on Wednesday or Thursday to discuss the creation of a new government.

The important thing for Srpska List is to see its programme and goals defined together with the Serbian government accepted, he told Tanjug, adding that there could be no talks of Serbian participation in the next Kosovo government without accepting those goals.

"We expect formal contact between Srpska List and officials of the DSK-DPK coalition on Wednesday or Thursday at the latest to discuss the formation of the Kosovo government and Serbian participation in it," he pointed out.

The priorities include adoption of Srpska List's demands concerning privatisation in Kosovo, return of the displaced persons, Serbian Orthodox Church protery and creation of an association of Serb municipalities, Jablanovic said.

"If Srpska List enters the Kosovo government, which we hope to do, it will be the 3rd strongest political entitiy in the new government and have significant authority," he noted.

Negotiations concerning the setup of the parliament for the next 4 years and formation of a government run by the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo-Democratic Party of Kosovo coalition are under way, he stated.

"We want to make a fundamental change to the lives of the Kosovo Serbs, improve them, help return seized property and achieve a serious return of the displaced Serbs," he said.
