Commander of EU mission commends Serbian medical staff

BELGRADE - Commander of the EU mission to the Central African Republic Brigadier General Jean Marc Bacquet has commended the Serbian Armed Forces medical staff deployed to that country on their efforts to build peace.

The Serbian troops taking part in the EU and UN multinational operation in the Central African Republic met for their duty briefing at the EU mission headquarters in Bangui, the Serbian Armed Forces posted on ther website on Friday.

Bacquet also attended the meeting and spoke with Serbian military hospital commander Colonel Milivoje Pajovic.

"Bacquet said he deeply respected the Serbian medical corps and the Serbian Armed Forces in general for their selfless efforts to build peace throughout the world and welcomed them to the Central African Republic," the Serbian Armed Forces stated.

The EU operation in the Central African Republic involves a Serbian medical team of 5 people, while the UN mission includes a military hospital with a staff of 68.

The UN mission also includes 2 Serbian officers on staff duty and another 2 as observers.
