Turkish worker dies in construction site accident
BELGRADE -- Turkish citizen Ekrem Kaplan (40) died on Friday in an accident on the Corridor 11 construction site in the village of Sarani near Gornji Milanovac.
The announcement was made by the Serbian Ministry of Labor, Veteran and Social Affairs.
Kaplan stayed in the Takovo camp and worked as a carpenter for the Belgrade office of AGT (Turkish MDF furniture manufacturer), the ministry said.
The accident happened at 11:30 CET when "the formwork around a concrete column fell on the worker," Tanjug quoted the statement.
Labor inspectors arrived on the scene immediately, and adequate legal measures will be undertaken based on the established facts.
