GPO Poll: Almost 7 in 10 Greeks predict compromise deal

The GPO Opinion Poll held by GPO for private MEGA TV found that 67.8% of Greeks predict a compromise with concessions from the Greek side in order to seal a deal in painful negotiations with Greece’s creditors from the European Commission, European Central Bank and International Monetary Fund.

19.4% of the respondents believed that the lenders will retreat from their positions to reach an agreement while an 8.3% of those questioned see a growing rift.

The poll showed that 56.3% of Greeks blame the creditors for the dragging the talks on for more than four months while 37.4% blamed the Greek Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) government.

The poll was conducted between June 12-15.
