Benedict: Time to implement reforms

BELGRADE - The deputy head of the EU Delegation to Serbia, Oscar Benedict, urged Serbia on Thursday to implement the required reforms, in particular in the fields related to the opened Chapters 23 and 24 in its EU accession talks.

Benedict, who took part in the 4th Belgrade Dialogues, told reporters the rising populism in Europe would not stop the EU enlargement.

We are working with the Serbian government and other candidate countries, and we will continue to work on European approximation, Benedict said.

We live in times fraught with challenges and the goal is to work together, in particular with southeastern Europe and, above all, with Serbia, which is an anchor of stability and reforms, Benedict noted.
