Miscevic: Hoyt Yee's statement misinterpreted

BELGRADE - The head of the Serbian team for EU accession talks Tanja Miscevic says a statement made by US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Hoyt Brian Yee in Belgrade Monday had been misinterpreted and taken out of context.

"Mr Hoyt Yee said that, to him, it is completely clear what Serbia's commitment is, that it is Serbia's membership in the EU, and that the US is a partner on that path," Miscevic told reporters Tuesday on the fringes of a conference on constitutional changes on the path to the EU.
