Turkey's economy strong enough, President Erdoğan says

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said Turkey's economic infrastructure was strong enough to rid itself of the current turmoil, which has been recently targeted by speculators amid a raft of newly imposed U.S. sanctions.

Speaking at an awards ceremony held by the Radio Television Journalists Association late Aug. 29, Erdoğan said: "They want to put pressure on us by using the economy."
