Stournaras tells gov't to introduce reforms

Bank of Greece Governor Yannis Stournaras sent the government a clear message on Wednesday to move ahead with the implementation of the necessary reforms, telling an event that "this is not the time to throw in the towel. We have covered 90 percent of the adjustment required."

Zara to open megastore near Athens Airport

Greek real estate development company REDS announced on Wednesday that multinational apparel chain Zara has agreed to lease a space totaling more than 3,000 square meters at Smart Park in Spata, near Athens International Airport.

The retail and entertainment center is owned by REDS, a member of the Ellaktor group of companies.

This will be Zara's biggest store in Greece.

Turkish Cypriot leader refuses to attend talks

Turkish Cypriot President Mustafa Akıncı has refused to attend a scheduled leaders' meeting on Feb. 23 on the grounds that Greek Cyprus has done nothing to repeal a recent law to permit schools to mark a vote to unify the island with Greece.

Azerbaijan Waiting for Bulgaria To Construct Gas Link With Greece

The construction of the gas link between Bulgaria and Greece is expected to start in the beginning of 2018, stated interim Energy Minister Nikolay Pavlov in Azerbaijan.

Poll: 52% Germans want Grexit!

Over half of the Germans polled said they wanted Greece to exit the Eurozone in a survey conducted, while only 24 were favourable to Greece remaining part of the common currency union. 53% of Germans were in favour of cutting off financial support to Greece, according to the survey conducted by the Forsa Research Institute for magazine Stern.

Anastasiades says regrets Akinci's decision not to attend talks

Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades expressed regret on Wednesday over the decision of Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci not to attend scheduled peace talks on Thursday.

"I am ready to continue the dialogue at any time," Anastasiades wrote on Twitter.

Turkish coast guard vessels entered Greek territorial waters near the islets of Imia, in the early hours of Wednesday, Kathimerini understands.
