Slovenia make it to quarter-final of Volleyball Worlds

Ljubljana – Slovenia sailed past Germany 3:1 (18, 19, -21, 22) on Saturday to secure a berth in the quarter-final of the World Volleyball Championship for the first time ever.

Slovenia had dominated Germany in the preliminary round just days ago but this time the game was much more equal.

The team will play either the Netherlands or Ukraine in the quarter-final, which will be played in Ljubljana.

“We don’t care who our opponent will be in the quarter-final, what matters is that we have a few days to rest and recharge our batteries,” said captain Tine Urnaut.
