Juncker in Athens for meeting with Samaras

Jean-Claude Juncker, the conservative candidate for European Commission president, is due to hold a series of meetings in Athens on Monday.

Juncker is due to have lunch with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras at the Acropolis Museum. Later, he will visit a metro worksite and the offices of the EU border agency Frontex in Athens.

The former Luxembourg prime minister is then due to appear a gathering of entrepreneurs and to speak at a New Democracy event in the evening.

Juncker appeared alongside SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras, the European Left’s candidate for Commission chief, in a televised debate last week.
