Gov't adopts decrees on flood damage verification

BELGRADE - Serbian government adopted on Friday two decrees on the manner of verification of flood damage estimates, which are included in the reports of local self-governments and the reports on estimated flood damage caused to public companies and other organizations founded by the Republic of Serbia.

The decrees specify the manner of verification of the damage sustained in the areas affected by the floods in May 2014, the Serbian government's press office released.

The verification procedure, intended to establish the accuracy and correctness of the estimation of flood-caused damage, will be carried out by the Office for assistance and rehabilitation of the flooded areas.

The verification will be conducted by commissions to be formed by the director of the Office after analyzing the documentation and examining the situation in the field, the release states.
