Final security assessment for Pride march in 2 weeks

BELGRADE - Serbian Interior Minister Internal Nebojsa Stefanovic has said that a final security assessment for the Gay Pride event, which should be held on September 28, will be known in two weeks, adding that the police are prepared for this event.

"It is still early to talk about the assessment, but the police are doing everything to ensure that this event is secured. We will send out all our people and I am confident that the police can maintain public order without the use of special vehicles and chemicals," Stefanovic told Informer, a Belgrade-based tabloid daily.

Informer reports that the Pride march was previously scheduled for May 31, but was postponed due to the massive flooding that hit Serbia in May.
