Free Zone Film Festival in Belgrade November 7-12

BELGRADE - The 10th Free Zone Film Festival will be held in cinemas in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Nis from November 7 to 12, Festival Director and Programme Selector Rajko Petrovic said.

The festival will officially open in Belgrade's Sava Centre on November 7 by guest selector Boris Buden, after which a documentary about the famous musician and writer Nick Cave entitled '20,000 Days on Earth' by Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard would be screened.

This year's programme will present the best documentaries and feature films that won awards at festivals worldwide.

The festival will feature this year's favourites of the world audience and critics, including 'Boyhood' by Richard Linklater who filmed the growing up of a boy over the course of 12 years, and Wim Wenders' 'The Salt of the Earth' which tells the story of a photojournalist who witnessed the Rwanda war, disintegration of Yugoslavia and other dramatic events in recent history.

Animated documentary 'Is The Man Who Is Tall Happy?' by Michel Gondry is also appealing to the audience, as well as the British-Brazilian production feature film 'Trash' by Stephen Daldry. Other interesting films include 'Finding Vivian Maier' which tells the story about one of the best street photographers of the 20th century and Serbo-Croatian film 'Happily Ever After - Love Odyssey' by Tatjana Bozic about the quest for the holy grail of love.

Documentary and feature film '1971' tells the story about the individuals who stole and published documents from the local FBI office about the government's intention to limit human rights and freedoms much earlier than this was done by Snowden ad WikiLeaks. Their identity was secret up to the screening of the film.
