Photo contest brings India, Serbia closer

BELGRADE - The first INDIASERBIA Photography Contest, a collaborative project to further the relations between the citizens, professionals and institutions of India and Serbia, and the two grand prizes were given to Samir Basu from India and Zoltan Bisak from Serbia, the Embassy of India in Belgrade said in a release on Tuesday.

Over 1500 entries were entered by photography enthusiasts from India and Serbia and starting from January 5 till the Belgrade International Tourism Fair in February, notable entries will be displayed and shared on the Indian Embassy's facebook page, www.facebook.com/IndembassyBelgrade, through another online contest - INDIASERBIA Caption the Photo Contest, the Indian Embassy said.

The competition is organized by the Embassy of India in Belgrade, in partnership with EXIT Foundation, Brand Serbia, India Tourism (Incredible India), Etihad Airways, National Institute of Design, Stockimagebank and Ideaworks Design & Strategy Pvt Ltd.

The INDIASERBIA Photography Contest was launched in Novi Sad, Serbia on July 10, 2014, the birthday of great Serbian scientist, Nikola Tesla, during the Rebrand Serbia Conference organized on the first day of the EXIT Festival, and the Indian Ambassador to Serbia Narinder Chauhan announced the contest open by inaugurating the online contest portal www.indiaserbia.com.

The jury, comprising some of the leading professionals from India and Serbia, declared the ten best entries from both countries and the grand prize winners, on December 15.
