CHP publishes stamp to mark anniversary

The main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) has prepared a stamp to mark the 93rd anniversary of the foundation of the party depicting the party's symbol and CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. The preparation of the stamp also carried special meaning for party leader Kılıçdaroğlu, who is known to own a stamp collection and was surprised by the commemorative stamp.

A total of 560 stamps were published and in addition to Kılıçdaroğlu's picture and the party's symbol, a statement reading "93rd foundation anniversary" was also written on the stamp.

A specially-framed stamp prepared for the occasion was presented to Kılıçdaroğlu in his office in Ankara. He hung the framed stamp in his office and placed one of them in his collection.

The stamps were also distributed to party assembly members and provincial heads, while the remaining ones were given to Kılıçdaroğlu so he could give them as gifts to people as he wished.

The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) conducted a similar practice for its 15th anniversary in August. The party published a stamp to mark the anniversary of its foundation depicting the images of Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as well as the AKP headquarters in Ankara.Photos from Turkey, coalition 'Euphrates Shield' op targeting ISIL in Syria's JarablusIstanbul welcomes third bridge over BosphorusLife in Jarablus after liberation from ISIL through the lens of Hürriyet reporter Selçuk ŞamiloğluHalfeti - A town of mesmerizing beautyExhibition shows Istanbul through eyes of children Secret weapons of Turkish army: locally produced rocket launchers, missile systemsThe bugs of Ankara: The weirdest scenes that anyone can run into in Turkish capitalA bird's eye view tour of...
