Gojkovic: Relations between Serbia, Germany better than ever

BELGRADE - President of the National Assembly of Serbia Maja Gojkovic says the relations between Germany and Serbia are better than ever, stressing that Serbia is grateful for Germany's support on its way to the EU and for what the country is doing to enable the opening of negotiation chapters when Serbia is ready.

Serbia has much support from Germany in overcoming challenges such as the migrant and the economic crisis, also faced by other countries in the region and the EU itself, she said Monday at a reception in the German embassy.

German Ambassador Axel Dittmann agreed that the cooperation between the two countries is excellent and highlighted that Germany supports Serbia on its strategic path towards the EU.

He also added that the two countries cooperate closely at the economic, cultural and international level.
