JusMin Tudorel Toader discusses Justice laws with co-chairs of European Conservatives and Reformists Group

Justice Minister Tudorel Toader met in Strasbourg with co-chairmen of the European Conservatives and Reformists Group, with the main topic of the talks being the amendments to the laws of Justice.

According to a release issued on Wednesday by the Ministry of Justice, State Secretary Marieta Safta also participated in the discussions with Syed Kamall and Ryszard Legutko.

"Tackled in the meeting were aspects related to the legislative developments in Romania, with particular reference to the Law on amending and adding Law no. 303/2004 on the status of judges and prosecutors, the Law for amending and adding Law no. 304/2004 on the judiciary organization and the Law for amending and adding Law no. 317/2004 on the Superior Council of Magistrates. The legislative procedure, the constitutional instruments regulated by the Romanian legislation, the constitutional control of the Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR) regarding the three laws, the effects of the decisions of the Constitutional Court, respectively the obligation of Parliament to put in line the provisions found to be unconstitutional with the decisions of the CCR were detailed," the release informs.
