Serbia, Srpska to build memorial centres to commemorate Jasenovac victims

BELGRADE - The Serbian government on Thursday adopted conclusions under which Serbia and Republika Srpska will build two memorial centres to commemorate the victims of the Jasenovac death camp in the WWII-era Independent State of Croatia.

Under a proposal approved by the government, one of the centres will be built at Donja Gradina (Republika Srpska) - the site of mass executions and physical abuses of the camp's captives and prisoners - and the other in Belgrade as the capital of the Republic of Serbia to ensure permanent remembrance of genocide victims and the plight during WWII, the government said in a statement.
