EC Prez. Juncker proposed number of refugees per each EU country

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker speaking at Strasbourg Wednesday called on EU member states to receive a portion of the refugees currently in Greece, Italy and Hungary, by presenting a proposal with the number he believed should be relocated to each country. According to the Commission’s estimates there are currently 54,000 in Hungary, 50,400 in Greece and 15,600 in Italy.

Bulgaria's Ludogorets Signs Striker Competing for Romania's National Team

Bulgaria's reigning football champion Ludogorets signed on Thursday a contract with the Romanian striker Claudiu Keseru for three years.

The 28-year-old Romanian started his career at his hometown club - Bihor Oradea before moving to France, where he competed for the teams of Nantes, Libourne, Tours, Angers and Bastia.

Bulgaria Drops Six Positions in FIFA World Ranking

The Bulgarian men's national football team dropped six positions in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking, which was released on Thursday.

At present, Bulgaria occupies the 68th place with 489 points, being behind the team of Norway and ahead of the United Arab Emirates.

Turkish women secure spot in 2016 FIBA Olympic qualifiers

Turkey's Women's National Team defeated Russia 68-66 in overtime on June 27 in Buda-pest to finish EuroBasket Women 2015 in fifth place and secure a spot in the 2016 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament. 

The qualifying tournament will take place next summer at a location to be determined. 

Turkish women beat Romania in straight sets

The Turkish national women's volleyball team claimed its third victory in a row at the European Games in Baku on June 19, by defeating Romania in a Group A game.

Turkey saw off Romania in straight sets, 25-16, 25-22 and 25-19, in one hour and 23 minutes at Crystal Hall.

Turkish women near qualification at Baku volleyball quarter-finals

Turkey moved one step closer to qualifying for the women's volleyball quarter-finals, while Russia claimed their first win of the Baku 2015 European Games at Crystal Hall 1 on the evening of June 17.  

In the first match of the night, Turkey swept aside Belgium 3-0 to pick up their second win of the tournament.
