Osijek – Slovenian shooters Urška Kuharič, Živa Dvoršak and Klavdija Jerovšek won silver in the women’s 10m air rifle team event at the 2021 European Shooting Championships in Osijek, Croatia on Tuesday. The Slovenian team had to concede a 2:16 defeat against Russia in the final.

Mura win first championship title

Maribor – The Murska Sobota side Mura have won their first ever title of national football champion after defeating Maribor 3:1 in the final round of the premiere league on Saturday.

Maribor had a three-point lead heading into the final round and only needed a draw to clinch their 16th national crown.

Nyon – Slovenian basketball coach and former player Jure Zdovc will be inducted in the FIBA Hall of Fame as part of the 2020 class. He is only the second Slovenian to make it to museum honouring people who have greatly contributed to international competitive basketball after Ivo Daneu.

Tchaikovsky – Nika Križnar has won the overall Ski Jumping World Cup to secure the first ever Crystal Globe trophy in the discipline in the women’s competition for Slovenia.

The 21-year-old Slovenian placed third in today’s event in Tchaikovsky, Russia, to pip Japanese Sara Takanashi to the trophy by nine points after the second series was cancelled due to strong winds.
