Leaders of political parties predicted election results for Blic Vucic made mistake in case of LDP and DSS only

Leaders of political parties including Aleksandar Vucic, have failed to guess which political parties would not go over the census.


Three days before going to polls, leaders of political parties forwarded to the Blic their enveloped predictions of election results. Nobody expected so good result by the SNS nor that the LDP and the DSS would remain below the census.


Although polls predicted that almost 50 percent of voters would give their votes to the SNS, nobody of the leaders of political parties believed that the SNS would have absolute majority in the next Parliament. The SNS President Aleksandar Vucic estimated for the Blic that the SNS would win 45 percent of votes what means 4 percent less than the party has actually won. However, only Vucic successfully estimated election results of the coalition around the SPS and the DS while other leaders believed that the socialists and the democrats would win larger support.


All leaders of political parties believed that the DSS and the LDP would go over the census. The SNS President estimated that Vojislav Kostunica would win 6 percent of votes and all other leaders believed that the DSS would get 7 percent of votes. As regards the LDP, Kostunica did not expect that liberals would get enough support to be in the new Parliament.


Apart the SNS leader, other leaders estimated better results for their political parties than the actual election results were. Thus Ivica Dacic believed that the SPS would get 18 percent of votes, Mladjan Dinkic predicted 6.5 percent for the URS and Sasa Radulovic...
