Another win for Serbian men's basketball team in Trieste

TRIESTE - The Serbian men's national basketball team beat Canada 78-73 (16-12, 23-22, 22-19, 17-20) on Monday in the second round of a tournament in Trieste.

After beating Bosnia and Herzegovina (82-69) on Sunday, head coach Aleksandar Djordjevic's team scored their second win as they prepare for the World Championship.

Nemanja Nedovic missed the game against Canada after sustaining a serious foot injury in the game against Bosnia and Herzegovina, and is to return to Belgrade on Wednesday for additional medical examinations.

If the injury is confirmed to be a fracture, the outstanding shooting guard will have to rest for three to four weeks and could miss the World Championship in Spain as a result.

Serbia have one game left to play in Trieste - they will face hosts Italy on Wednesday.

They will next take part in a tournament in Pau, where they will face Greece, Croatia and hosts France.

At the World Championship, to be held from August 30 to September 14, Serbia will play in Group A, which also includes hosts Spain, France, Brazil, Egypt and Iran.
