Pajtic on visit to China as member of PES delegation

BELGRADE - A delegation of the Party of European Socialists (PES), including leader of the Democratic Party (DS) and chairman of the executive council of the Serbian province of Vojvodina Bojan Pajtic, will be on a visit to China from September 1 to 5, where they will have talks with top officials of the country and the Communist Party of China.

The delegation comprises PES president and former Bulgarian prime minister Sergei Stanishev, leader of the Social Democratic Party and Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta, leader of the Social Democratic Party and Foreign Minister of Bosnia-Herzegovina Zlatko Lagumdzija and others, the DS stated in a release.

The talks will address further improvement in relations between EU member states, candidate countries and China, cooperation in the fields of economy, human rights, foreign policy and security risks.

During the meetings, the head of the Vojvodina government will place a special emphasis on Chinese investments in Serbia and other economic issues, as well as improvement in cultural cooperation, the DS said in the release.
