Serbia now ranks 94th on competitiveness list

BELGRADE -- Serbia has risen seven spots on the World Economic Forum's global competitiveness list for 2014 and is now 94th among 144.

This is according to the Foundation for the Advancement of Economics, the Beta news agency reported.

Serbia's jump from the 101th spot in 2013 was the result of an increase of the global competitiveness index from 3.8 to 3.9, read a report the Foundation published as the World Economic Forum's partner.

The span of the index is one to seven, one being the worst, and seven the best possible rating.

According to its 2014 results, Serbia again has the historically highest competitiveness index value, the result of current business world perceptions of a country's ability to secure stable economic growth in the long term, the report reads.
