Elections in Vojvodina to be held soon

BELGRADE - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said that elections "will soon be held in Vojvodina", so the citizens of this northern Serbian province could voice their opinion on the actions of local authorities.

In an interview for Radio and Television of Serbia late on Thursday, Vucic said that he did not engage in party politics, but that he met with Istvan Pastor (Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians) on several occasions, and once with Nenad Canak (League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina), noting that the talks were serious.

Elections will soon be held in Vojvodina, and the actions of local authorities will be evaluated by the voters, he said.

Vucic pointed out that the position of party leader is of no interest to him while he performs the duty of prime minister, adding that, in that respect, he intends to follow in the footsteps of President Tomislav Nikolic.
