Vucic:I warned EU representatives that incident is preparing

BELGRADE - The incident during the match between Serbia and Albania was an organised action with the aim of damaging the stability in Serbia and the entire region, Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said and added that he warned EU representatives three hours before the match that a provocation is being prepared.

The intention of Albanian extremists was to show Serbia as a country intolerant of differences and to humiliate all its citizens, the prime minister said in an interview for the special edition of the Belgrade-based daily Novosti to mark its 61st anniversary. The entire interview will be made public on Thursday.

Commenting on the incident caused by Albanian extremists at the Partizan Stadium during and after the match between Serbia and Albania, Vucic said that they wished to blemish Serbia's pride but the country preserved its face and showed the clear difference between 'us' and 'them' to the crowd of false Albanian officials in the special section. The government will implement all the measures envisaged by laws in order to punish the individuals for whom the police establish to have committed the criminal act.

The authorities are still waiting for Brussels to release its official stand on the politically inspired outrageous incident.

With some degree of embitterment, Vucic told Novosti that he is still waiting for the reaction of the EU, adding that he informed EU representatives three hours before the match that Albanians are preparing provocations and a grave incident.
