Vucic: Serbia's territorial integrity cannot be questioned

BELGRADE - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic stated on Monday that Kosovo-Metohija is a part of Serbia and underscored that the country's territorial integrity cannot be called into question.

Vucic said this in response to the statement made by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama who told a joint news conference in Belgrade that Kosovo is an independent state and that this is a reality that cannot be changed.

Vucic said that he did not expect provocations from Prime Minister Rama, and expressed regret that Rama used the opportunity to speak about a topic which was not previously agreed on. Vucic underscored that he will not let anyone come to Belgrade and humiliate Serbia.

He said that he does not know what connections Rama has with Kosovo. According to the Constitution, Kosovo-Metohija is a part of Serbia and it never had anything to do with Albania, nor will it ever have, Vucic said.

We can talk about different approaches but I do not think that there is anything that can stop us from telling the truth, Rama said.

In response to the repeated reaction by Prime Minister Vucic who said that the mention of Kosovo constitutes provocation which he had not expected, Rama reiterated that an independent Kosovo is a reality which needs to be accepted and added that a large number of countries have already done so.

We obviously have different stands and Serbia's stand that Kosovo-Metohija is a part of Serbia is a true reality, Vucic said and added that he is glad to be able to say it in front of the Albanian prime minister.
