Thousands in northern Mitrovica protest arrests of Serbs

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - Thousands of Serbs gathered in northern Kosovska Mitrovica on Friday for a peaceful protest march in support of three Serbs recently arrested by Pristina's police - Milun Milenkovic Lune, Rados Petrovic and Dusan Obrenovic.

Defying bad weather and rain, the protesters were led by children from a local kick boxing club where Milenkovic works as a coach and by friends and family members of the arrestees, a Tanjug reporter said.

The protesters carried banners reading "Stop the terror against innocent Serbs", "The North was peaceful before Kurti's special police came", "We are all Lune", etc.

Kosovo-Metohija Sports Association President Goran Kovac said the goal of the protest was to support the Serbs unjustly incarcerated by Pristina, which has placed them in custody.
