Serbia crowned European water polo champion

BUDAPEST -- The Serbian men's national water polo team won the gold medal at the 31st European Championship by beating hosts Hungary 12-7 in Budapest late on Sunday.

It is the third European gold medal for Serbia, after triumphing in Belgrade in 2006 and in Eidnhoven in 2012.

GSTAAD - Serbia's Viktor Troicki is through to the quarterfinals of the ATP tournament in Gstaad after defeating Andrey Golubev of Kazakhstan 6-3, 6-4 in their second-round match on Thursday.

Next up for Troicki is a first-time clash with either Spaniard Fernando Verdasco or German Jan-Lennard Struff for a spot in the semifinals.

The Swiss Open prize fund totals EUR 485,760.
