Suceava: Four medals for Belgrade's young astrophysicists
SUCEAVA, BELGRADE - Students of the Mathematical High School in Belgrade won four medals and one honorable mention at the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) in Suceava, Romania.
Five high school students representing Serbia at the 8th IOAA, held from August 1 to 11, won a total of one gold, one silver and two bronze medals.

The country's most successful athletes were Nebojša Grujić and Marko Novaković, who won the men’s K-2 200m event.

Jelena Jankovic ousted from two events at Rogers Cup
MONTREAL – After frustrating Ana Ivanovic’s Rogers Cup bid on Thursday, American Coco Vandeweghe pulled out a surprise 7-6 (10-8) 2-6, 7-5 victory over Serbia’s best female tennis player Jelena Jankovic Friday morning CET.
It took Vandeweghe two hours and 38 minutes to secure her spot in the quarterfinals.

TORONTO - Serbia's Nenad Zimonijc and Canada's Daniel Nestor reached the Rogers Cup doubles quarter-finals by beating the Serbian-Swiss pair of Novak Djokovic and Stanislas Wawrinka 6-4, 6-4 in Toronto early Thursday.
Jankovic through to Rogers Cup 3rd round, Ivanovic ousted
MONTREAL - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic reached the third round of the Rogers Cup in Montreal early Thursday by beating Sloane Stephens of the United States 6-7 (7-9), 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) in a marathon match that lasted three hours and 20 minutes.
Jankovic will next face Coco Vandeweghe of the United States, who beat Serbia's Ana Ivanovic 7-6 (9-7), 6-7 (7-9), 4-6 early Thursday.
Serbian men's basketball team loses last game in Trieste
TRIESTE - The tournament in Trieste ended in a defeat for the Serbian men's national basketball team, which lost to hosts Italy 80-71 (22-11, 15-24, 12-17, 31-19) in the last round late Tuesday.
It was the first defeat for head coach Aleksandar Djordjevic's team in the preparations for the upcoming World Championship in Spain.
