Pupin bridge is result of two countries' cooperation

BELGRADE - China's Prime Minister Li Keqiang has said that the bridge Mihajlo Pupin is the result of cooperation between Serbia and China and added there will be other infrastructure projects that will follow European standards.

Li opened the bridge together with Serbia's Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and said that Serbian workers built the bridge using Chinese equipment, with everyone doing their best to complete the project properly.

This bridge will not serve only for traffic and communication between people, but also as a symbol of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, which will be improved further in the future, Li noted.

China is willing to continue working with Serbia on infrastructure projects, he remarked, adding that those projects would be in line with EU laws and standards.

Commenting on the recent summit between China and countries of Central and Eastern Europe, Keqiang pointed out that it had been the right choice to hold the event in Belgrade.

It was the right choice to pick Belgrade as the host of the meeting and Serbia will continue to gain importance in the relations between China and 16 Central and Eastern European countries.
