Vucic: Serbia wants closer ties with African countries

BELGRADE - Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic on Friday received Namibian Deputy PM and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, noting that Serbia wanted to have closer ties with African countries, in particular in the economy.

The good political relations between the two countries are not matched by adequate economic cooperation and trade, Vucic said, proposing establishment of cooperation between the countries' chambers of commerce.

Vucic thanked Nandi-Ndaitwah for Namibia's principled position on non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo and the vote against Kosovo's UNESCO membership.

Nandi-Ndaitwah urged Serbian businesspeople to step up cooperation with Namibian partners.
