Dacic pledges full assistance to Schwendiman

BELGRADE - Serbian First Deputy PM and FM Ivica Dacic met in Belgrade Thursday with David Schwendiman, chief prosecutor of the special court for war crimes committed by the "Kosovo Liberation Army", to whom he pledged logistic and legal assistance from state authorities.

Scwendiman said his first visit to the region in this capacity - including to Pristina - was aimed at introducing him to officials of the relevant Serbian government institutions with whom he would cooperate in the period to come.

Dacic noted the government supported the work of the war crimes court and the prosecutor's office.

The establishment of these institutions is a form of satisfying Serbian demands for equitable investigations of crimes committed against the Serbs during the conflicts in the former Yugoslavia, which have not been investigated in that manner so far, Dacic said.
