Vucic: Contact with Trump's office could be established soon

BELGRADE - Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic said Monday his recent visit to Abu Dhabi had included meetings with advisers to US president-elect Donald Trump, and added that he was expecting to soon establish contact with Trump's office and with Trump himself.

Vucic was responding to media speculations that he had travelled to Abu Dhabi to attend a Formula 1 race.

"I was there because I had to be there, that is where people meet and establish certain contacts, and we may soon establish some kind of contact with the new US president and his office," Vucic said.

Remarking that he was not interested in Formula 1 racing - and that he would perhaps have gone to see a football or a basketball game if there had been one - Vucic said that he had instead met with Trump's aides, the president of Rwanda, the PM of Nigeria and people from across the region.
