WB backs strengthening of state administration capabilities

BELGRADE - At a meeting with PM Aleksandar Vucic late Wednesday, World Bank (WB) officials expressed a readiness to back Serbian government efforts to strengthen the capabilities of the state administration in order to improve coordination among institutions and focus on achieving concrete results.

We are aware of the challenges of managing the complex changes required to achieve 3 pct growth on sustainable grounds, said the WB delegation, headed by Cyril Muller, the institution's vice-president for Europe and Central Asia.

They said the WB would also assist the Serbian government in developing its innovation and entrepreneurship policy, the government press office said in a statement.

Vucic noted the government had established a council tasked with improving the IT sector to create conditions for further development of the IT business in Serbia.
