USAID to allocate $2mln to civil sector in Serbia - report

The US Agency for International Development (USAID) plans to allocate two million dollars to the civil sector in Serbia, according to a document RT has seen.

The funds have been set aside to, among other things, strengthen the ties between the civil, private sector and the state, Sputnik is reporting.

Future beneficiaries should organize in two directions - "strengthening legal grounds for providing assistance, and increasing public awareness and participation in various forms of assistance."

The document states that regardless of the positive dynamic of the development of providing assistance in Serbia, problems remain that need to be addressed through grant allocation. The program operator will be the regional office of the Agency in Kosovo.
