Ministers Vulin, Rodic to visit Kosovo-Metohija on Easter

BELGRADE - Serbian Minister without Portfolio responsible for Kosovo-Metohija Aleksandar Vulin and Defense Minister Nebojsa Rodic will attend a Midnight Easter Vigil at the Monastery of Devic, the Office for Kosovo-Metohija has announced.

The ministers will attend the Easter Vigil liturgy, which in Orthodox churches marks the beginning of the celebrations of the greatest Christian holiday, the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The Monastery of Devic is one of the most distinguished Serb monasteries. It was built by Despot Djuradj Brankovic around 1434, and is situated in Drenica, five kilometers south of the town of Srbica, central Kosovo-Metohija.

The monastery was burnt down in the March pogrom in 2004, and it also suffered massive damage in 1999.

Kosovo police guards this nunnery.
