Rikalo: Voting in Kosovo will be possible with Serbian ID

PRISTINA - Member of the Kosovo Central Election Commission (CEC) Nenad Rikalo sai on Friday the CEC had decided to allow the use of all valid documents in order to vote at the parliamentary election on Sunday.

It means the voters will be able to use Serbian identification documents if they are on the electoral roll in order to cast their vote.
"All current documents can be used, including personal identifiation cards, passports, refugee or displaced person identification papers and UNMIK personal identification cards, which are not valid anymore, but will be accepted on election day," he noted.

Election silence begins at midnight CET on Friday and will last until the polling stations are closed on Sunday evening.

There are 1,782,454 registered voters in Kosovo and almost 34,000 of them will be voting for the first time.

The CEC accredited over 400 observers for the election.

The snap parliamentary poll in Kosovo will be held on June 8 and 5 Serbian slates will be on the ballot.
